Warp Records Show Now Airing on BreakThru Radio
NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) May 29, 2007 -- BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet's source for the World's Best Independent Music, announced today that it will air a brand new specialty show from DJ Matt Latola, showcasing the legendary indie label Warp Records. This spectacular new show will feature a playlist with many talented artists from the influential record label. The "Warp Records Showcase" is the latest installment in the station's impressive series of record label specialty shows.
Warp Records was founded in 1989 by Steve Beckett, Rob Mitchell, and Robert Gordon. Located in UK, the label's first release was Forgemasters' "Track with No Name." C.C.E.P. by Sweet Exorcist was the first full album released on the label, in 1991. Since then, Warp has launched the careers of several influential artists, many of whom have helped to change the face of music over the years. Warp artists include Clark, !!!, Born Ruffians, LFO, and Vincent Gallo.
"Warp is pretty much the model for what every independent label should strive to be," explains BTR's DJ Latola, who will feature acts such as Battles, Squarepusher, Gravenhurst, Jamie Lidell, and Grizzly Bear on the show. "They sign all the bands that are doing what most artists won't figure out for another 10 years."
The "Warp Records Showcase" will premiere on BTR today and will be available in the station's archive and program guide, along with all of BTR's previous record label showcases and other specialty programs. Listeners can tune in to hear DJ Latola's picks from the Warp Records roster by visiting www.breakthruradio.com.
