The History of AM/FM Radio
In 1872, Joshua Coppersmith was arrested and charged with attempting to steal money from gullible people who believed his claim that he could produce an instrument that would transmit voice over wires. Within four years of Coppersmith's arrest, Alexander Graham Bell had invented the telephone which transmitted voice over wires just as Coppersmith had claimed he could do.

Demand for Heartland's New Single 'Southern Frame Of Mind' Puts Pressure On Label to Service Radio Stations
Nashville, TN (Billboard Publicity Wire) February 18, 2007 -- TRASTAR ENTERTAINMENT, Inc announced today that it is rushing to get the new single "Southern Frame Of Mind" to radio stations and programmers in order to meet the tremendous demand created as a result of last week's internet release. The new song unexpectedly found its way to the number 1 slot on the popular internet based charting source "Soundclick," country music chart. "Sound click" measures the number of times that recordings are electronically accessed by consumers via the internet and publishes the position results on a chart similar to those found in familiar print media publications like Billboard and R&R. At the time "Southern Frame Of Mind" hit number 1, "Soundclick" reported that it was tracking 2,152,273 songs and 294,152 artists. Heartland was not only number one in country and country pop, but also number 1 in Southern Rock, number 10 in Rock and number 6 over all forms of music. Notably, Heartland was the only country artist which appeared in the overall top 20.
TRASTAR President/CEO, Frank Scherman said in a telephone interview that Heartland has apparently become an overnight sensation, twenty years in the making. He went on to say, "Although we had a number of successes back in Heartland's early days, they've never experienced anything like the overwhelming response to this internet release. This was supposed to be a test market for this record and it has simply exploded out there."
"Southern Frame Of Mind" was taken off of an album which was recorded by Heartland at back in 1985 and features the groups original members; Barry Templeton, Ron Kohlman, Barry McLawhorn, Charlie Helmick and Cliff Lenchner. Additionally, the album was produced by well known Nashville songwriter and record producer, Mark Carman, who was still unknown at the time. Heartland's Barry Templeton said, "Mark was sort of the creative genius behind the recorded version of Heartland. We all felt like that the record was probably ten years ahead of its time. Little did we know that we be having a hit some twenty years later."
TRASTAR also announced that it will be re-releasing the entire Heartland 1985 "Bridging the Gap" album on CD as well as in digital format for internet downloads. It has already reached an agreement with BMJ-Nashville to handle marketing and distribution of the product and expects to have it available for sale by the end of March, 2007.
