BreakThru Radio To Air Arts & Crafts Specialty Label Show
New York, NY (PRWeb) February 12, 2006 - BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet's voice of the World's Best Independent Music, announced today it will air a specialty show devoted to Canadian label, Arts & Crafts, hosted by DJ Pat.
"Arts & Crafts is prime example of what BreakThru Radio considers quality music from quality people," said DJ Pat. "While it may seem like this is a rare attribute in today's music business, it feels good to know that there are labels we can trust."
Arts & Crafts is a charming independent record label based out of Toronto, Ontario. Founded in 2002 by Jeffrey Remedios and Kevin Drew, it began with three roommates and an idea to pull their community of talented artists together to form one greater collective. At that time Remedios was living with Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning of the Broken Social Scene while working for Virgin Records Canada. Once this idea was conceived, he promptly quit is job at Virgin and together with Drew, he formed Arts & Crafts. A&C became a record label, artists management company, and publisher all together in one.
Their first release, Broken Social Scene's You Forget It In People, won the Alternative Album of the Year Juno Award in 2003 and began to put the band and the label on the map. BSS is a constantly evolving, experimental rock group that has included many of Toronto's most talented musicians and spawned a number of successful groups including Jason Collett, Apostle of Hustle, Valley of the Giants, and Feist. Most of these spin-off projects have been supported and promoted by the great people at Arts & Crafts.
